Discipline Policy
Consequences
Consequences will run on a quarterly basis. When a student chooses not to follow classroom and school rules he/she will receive the following consequences:
Initial Offense: If a student breaks a rule, they will receive a verbal warning.
Ticket: A ticket will be given for any missing assignment or for breaking any Eagle Expectation. If a student receives a ticket, they will have one day of alternative recess.
Minor Discipline Referral: A Minor Discipline Referral will be issued after every 5 tickets or based on the severity of the offense. The school administration will receive a copy of the Minor Discipline Referral. The Minor Discipline Referral will be sent by e-mail through Teacher Ease. Please respond to the e-mail stating you have received the Minor Discipline Referral. If a student receives a Minor Discipline Referral, they will write the Eagle Expectations, receive two days of alternative recess and complete a reflection to be signed by a parent/guardian.
Major Discipline Referrals: A Major Discipline Referral will be issued after every 3 Minor Discipline Referrals or based on the severity of the offense. The school administration will receive a copy of the Major Discipline Referral. The Major Discipline Referral will be sent by e-mail through Teacher Ease. Please respond to the e-mail stating you have received the Major Discipline Referral. If a student receives a Major Discipline Referral, they will write the Eagle Expectations, receive three days of alternative recess and complete a reflection to be signed by a parent/guardian.
Other Situations: Other forms of punishment may be issued depending on the severity of the offense. If at student receives 9 Minor DR’s or 3 Major DR’s throughout the year, they will be excluded from all end of the year celebrations.
***If there is a concern you wish to discuss with the teacher, please contact the teacher via email, call during scheduled conference times, or call the school to set up an appointment. Please refrain from impromptu conferences. Allow the teacher time to gather information and documentation to assist with the issue. ***
